コロナ禍のロックダウン下、
外出を奪われたセブで、私は風景と身体を描き始めました。
本作は、セブ特有の強い日差しの下に立つ身体を描いた一枚です。
降り注ぐ光は、
まるで雨のように肌に落ち、
輪郭を揺らし、
身体を風景の一部へと溶かしていきます。
水に入ることも、
海を見つめることもなく、
ただ光を浴びる。
それでもなお、
この島の空気と湿度の中で、
身体は常に環境と交差しています。
セブの著名画家Tito Cuevasらが信頼を寄せる
額縁工房にて特注額装。
越境の中で生まれた、1点物の原画です。

During the COVID lockdown,
confined in Cebu, I began painting landscapes and bodies.
This work depicts a body standing beneath the intense sunlight unique to Cebu.
The light falls like rain,
touching the skin,
softening the contours,
and gradually dissolving the body into its surroundings.
There is no immersion in water,
no horizon to face —
only light.
Yet within the island’s air and humidity,
the body remains in constant dialogue with its environment.
Custom-framed at a workshop trusted by
the renowned Cebu-based painter Tito Cuevas.
A one-of-a-kind original work
born through a practice shaped across borders.
